This passage does keep me ponder.
1 Corinthians 25:27
25Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. 27No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
Are we talking about the rat race here? Or perhaps olympic games applies..
Are we running aimlessly reaching for something that won't last?
Is it right that as we hike and climb the corporate ladder, we push and step and stab those who are weak, shy and gentle? Is this what we call True Victory?
We sweat and cry.... just to earn that extra $$ and spend it all lavishly in boutiques and fine dining. Is it really worth the efforts?
I wish to stop running aimlessly.
But if I don't run, I'd be left behind.
I don't want to stay back and rot.
I want to move forward.
Perhaps, the best service for God is lowering ourselves as we serve others for God.
one slave can never serve TWO masters.
It's either God or the devil. We got to take a pick.
