Hear me O people!

Just over dinner, I had a small chat with one of my friend's friend who works in KL. I asked how come she's not at work. She said, she's on one week's break since it's CNY. For me, i told her, we had to take leaves since it's shutdown (i felt that she couldn't understand what i mean by shutting down).

If your company is doing fine, that doesnt mean MINE is..
From your observation, you think that WE are over-exaggerating the economic situation, the fact that WE are not.
What's with the pay cut and forced leaves all about?
She told me, if you earn less, then spend less.
Yes. . TRUE. but it's not impacting me. It's impacting the WORLD. i mean including YOU and ME.
It's ok if I earn less, but what if I'm out of job? She told me there are plentiful of jobs around. It's the matter if you are willing to start all over again.
Oh well... not when thousands of people are jobless..

Yes, you dont feel it now.
There is profit for your company now.
How about few months down the road?

Penang is in deep shit first.
I heard so much of 'packages' from various companies, including chinaman companies which did not declare to the government.

But what can I do? Why am I worrying something that I cant make a difference?
I'm honestly worrying for nothing.
Partly, it's because i'm stranded at home -> doing nothing....
It's SICK staying at home!

What's the Difference between 'Net' and "Nett"

Since it's part of my group's job to publish daily billings report to the management, our Director (from US) pinpointed that we should fix the spelling of 'nett billings' to 'net billings'.
My colleauge was looking at google, trying to understand the 'right' spelling to be used.

I finally checked it from Wikipedia, and found that 'nett' is BRITISH and 'net' is AMERICAN.
No wonder he's offended to fix it to 'net'!
C'mon. I'm in an american MNC, I should be more sensitive towards this.

Nyonya Willow is now at Arena Curve

Penang is indeed a food haven, where both tourists and locals are blessed with many good foods. When it comes to Peranakan or rather, Nyonya food, we could never forget Penang..... aside from Malacca and Singapore.

Nyonya Willow used to be located in a home at Sungai Tiram but now it's currently moved to Arena Curve. Getting there is a little tricky as the parking space around Olive Tree hotel is usually full, thus I'd recommend to park inside the Arena curve where the entrance is situated opposite d'piazza.  I personally find that it's now situated in a more strategic place, as it's easily accessible and nearer to my work place.

As it was on a usual weekday lunch, we ordered a few dishes like jiu hu char (RM14) , lor bak (RM16), kapitan chicken (RM16), pork leg vinegar (RM18), perut ikan (RM18) and babi ponteh (RM16). I'd recommend the kapitan chicken and perut ikan, as well as their gulai tumis (I tried it earlier in my previous visit).

 Our lunch spread :)

Traveling to the Southern Thailand Border - Dannok

It's been a while since I've gotten my passport stamped, thus, I thought I could do a day trip at the southern Thailand border. Being a frequent traveler to Thailand, I've always booked a van service to take me to the border. This time, it's really my first time trying out going to the border by foot.

It wasn't a good day for me as I forgotten to bring my umbrella.
Thus, I bought a not-so-nice one that day.
Moreover exchange rate is really bad. It's like 8.30 rate.
Then, I didn't know how to get the immigration form. So i chose the easier way to go to the shop and get it printed out (I later found out from my next trip that i can walk into the office to get one)

I started my walk along the shops to take a look at clothes, food, and also I bought a floor mat (funny, i thought it was nice). Also, not forgetting 7-11 for the cold drinks.
The weather was really crazy that I stopped at McD for free wifi and aircon, and the samurai pork burger.

 Seriously, tahpau…
