Bukit Genting, Penang

Bukit Genting has been in Penang for quite a bit of time, but I had never find the opportunity to go there, especially, it is at situated pretty far away, south of Penang Island.
The drive was bad, since there were road works along the Gertak Sanggul to Balik Pulau way (there is only ONE way). Seems like there were be new flyovers coming up.


Most people would go for the sunset at Bkt Genting. Since it was a cloudy day, I didn't expect much there.

After the sun sets, suddenly there were strings of multiple colored hues, which amazed me.
since I was early, I walked around the place.. and found this lime tree.
Some pretty flowers



Food was really so-so...

What's the Difference between 'Net' and "Nett"

Since it's part of my group's job to publish daily billings report to the management, our Director (from US) pinpointed that we should fix the spelling of 'nett billings' to 'net billings'.
My colleauge was looking at google, trying to understand the 'right' spelling to be used.

I finally checked it from Wikipedia, and found that 'nett' is BRITISH and 'net' is AMERICAN.
No wonder he's offended to fix it to 'net'!
C'mon. I'm in an american MNC, I should be more sensitive towards this.

Nyonya Willow is now at Arena Curve

Penang is indeed a food haven, where both tourists and locals are blessed with many good foods. When it comes to Peranakan or rather, Nyonya food, we could never forget Penang..... aside from Malacca and Singapore.

Nyonya Willow used to be located in a home at Sungai Tiram but now it's currently moved to Arena Curve. Getting there is a little tricky as the parking space around Olive Tree hotel is usually full, thus I'd recommend to park inside the Arena curve where the entrance is situated opposite d'piazza.  I personally find that it's now situated in a more strategic place, as it's easily accessible and nearer to my work place.

As it was on a usual weekday lunch, we ordered a few dishes like jiu hu char (RM14) , lor bak (RM16), kapitan chicken (RM16), pork leg vinegar (RM18), perut ikan (RM18) and babi ponteh (RM16). I'd recommend the kapitan chicken and perut ikan, as well as their gulai tumis (I tried it earlier in my previous visit).

First trip of the year 2016 -- Hatyai

Following the previous day trip to Dannok, I finally had a short vacation in Hatyai, This is probably one of my many trips to Hatyai, but this time, I didn't really spend a lot of time around Lee Gardens Hotel area.

I've never really blogged on the details of my journey to Hatyai, so here it is...


Going through the immigration is much easier compared to the immigration at the airport. In the past, I have always gotten the immigration form (They call it the 'white card') from the money changers at Changloon. In fact, it is easily accessible at the immigration office on the left hand side. Parking is also easy and free while awaiting for our passports to be stamped.


Danok is always famous for pork leg rice. So here it is. I love the sweet and sour chilies.


The chicken kuih chiap along the way. It tasted like bak kut teh compared to the normal kueh chiap dish.


After lunch, i finally managed to checked in to Wungnoy Hotel. I would recommend this hotel, as it felt more like…
