Relay 4 Life - Penang

I still remember vividly that it was 8 March 2008.
It was after our General election and the response was quite poor since the crowd would be too afraid to step out of their house, being afraid of riots after the announcements of the results.

I remembered I met up with my friend at youth park after doing some 'election' work.
It was my first time going for the relay 4 life.

This year would be my second year. The response is definitely way better!

The purpose of the relay is to remind us all that every minute, there are cancer patients fighting for the disease. So, at every moment, there would be someone running on the fields for the relay from evening till the next day.

The only contribution that I gave was purchasing a RM10 coupon for the food fair.
Food was not bad, *honest*. I did not buy their tshirts (this year, they have baby tees), thus I put on my only faded purple tee.
The Wawasan Open University Folks

The line dancers, the cheer leaders and the body combaters (they had zombie track - again)

As they light up around the circle..

Camping for the night!

Rainbow for the day - GOD is reminding us on His Promises

What's the Difference between 'Net' and "Nett"

Since it's part of my group's job to publish daily billings report to the management, our Director (from US) pinpointed that we should fix the spelling of 'nett billings' to 'net billings'. My colleauge was looking at google, trying to understand the 'right' spelling to be used. I finally checked it from Wikipedia , and found that 'nett' is BRITISH and 'net' is AMERICAN. No wonder he's offended to fix it to 'net'! C'mon. I'm in an american MNC, I should be more sensitive towards this.

Monday Movie Day - Mamma Mia

Finally, after being a nuffnanger for 3 months, I was invited for a free movie at GSC Gurney. Thanks, nuffnang. Again and again. Free movie for 3. Thanks. :D The blogger community was exceptionally quiet compared to the usual cinema crowd. Perhaps, maybe, they only TALK in their blog. I dont' know. Even as we were watching a few minutes of the silent movie, there were not a single 'hoo-ing' or banana-throwing at the screens. I was looking hard to see if I know anyone. I guess it's just 5xmom with her anti-ISA tshirt. Hm.. Somewhat, after watching the movie, I felt that it was just morally so wrong. Am I too rational? 1. How can one has 3 fathers? Shouldn't they do a DNA check first? 2. Does that mean it's alright sleeping with 3 men one after another and get pregnant and raise the child in an island? 3. It seemed ok for the daughter to just call off the wedding. 4. And, the pastor actually solemnized their wedding just like that? They don't even need to att...

An Encounter with Gelatissimo

It was an eventful Saturday afternoon. I had an 'appointment' with Gelatissimo , Gurney Plaza, Penang. I have always wished to try gelatos there (since Lecka Lecka has gone for good) and it's the ONLY store serving gelatos in Penang (I think). There you go.. I'm going to blog on my 'encounter' with Gelatissimo. First and foremost, consumers need to be educated the difference between ice-cream (Haagen dazs, Baskin Robbins, Walls etc) and Gelatos. Gelatos is italian frozen ice dessert and the method of making it is different from ice cream . Basically, gelatos has less cream than ice cream and it has higher density (the molecules are nearer as compared with ice cream). Most importantly, I think the fat content is less as it has more original food as compared with ice cream (usually with articificial coloring and flavours). The friendly staff posing for camera. The girl in spectacles would always asked me if I would like to try their flavours. To be honest, I trie...
