Cakes always taste better when it's FRESHLY baked

It was one of my colleague's last day and she decided to treat everyone with two round cakes from Secret Recipe. Since I was not at the office, she insisted to get a friend to home-delivered the cakes to me, even though I've explained to her that the cakes would not taste as good as it is by the time it reaches my home.
Indeed, by the time I got the cakes, it was soft and soggy.
In fact, it was not fresh already.
Most importantly, the cakes were not kept in the right temperature, thus leaving its freshness away......
I once heard from my friend that the cakes in Secret Recipe Penang are stored for few days but since it's kept refrigerated well, it could last longer as how it should be.
However, for someone who doesnt waste food, I finished everything with my sis at home :)

U shud be grateful to have such a colleague instead of complaining about the taste of the cake. After all, ur col was just being nice knowing that u not in office n took the trouble to get the cake to u. It is the heart that counts n not the taste of the cake. Imagine if u r the col n reading this post. How u feel? If u wan to be a wise woman, first learn to be nice.

nitin: i think miss anonymous sounds like my sis that ate the cake with me.

miss anonymous: i'm stating the fact that the cake lose its freshness and it doesn't mean that i didn't thank her for being thoughtful about it. in fact, if im the colleague, i'd take note to understand that cakes cant last long.

i agree..when it's expose to norm temp, the cakes wil tends to change its properties, it doesn't have the softness feeling..it become a bit dry i would say..

nitin: i found out that my sister didn't drop any comments here. lolz.
pei: the cream was soggy, and you are right that the cake would be dried up as it's exposed to the normal temperature.

What's the Difference between 'Net' and "Nett"

Since it's part of my group's job to publish daily billings report to the management, our Director (from US) pinpointed that we should fix the spelling of 'nett billings' to 'net billings'. My colleauge was looking at google, trying to understand the 'right' spelling to be used. I finally checked it from Wikipedia , and found that 'nett' is BRITISH and 'net' is AMERICAN. No wonder he's offended to fix it to 'net'! C'mon. I'm in an american MNC, I should be more sensitive towards this.

An afternoon at Dannok

Living at the northern side of Malaysia makes it really convenient and easy to go 'overseas'. For us, going to our neighboring country, be it Thailand or Singapore by land or by flight is really easy. I'm always a fan of Thai food, and with the remaining Thai bahts that I had since my last Bangkok trip (which I didn't finish even crossing the border a couple or times), I decided to go Dannok for FOOD again. So, it's a day trip or rather, half day tour to Dannok For the past few weeks, I was searching for insta / blog /facebook posts if there is any other new hangouts in Dannok, but sadly, I couldn't find many bloggers who write about it. The funny part is, I already blogged about it two years ago. The immigration complex in Malaysia is new. I nearly couldn't recognize it, while passing to get our passport checked. As I didn't want to drive over, we parked our car at the Zon Duty Free. As I entered, I took the wrong ticket (which parking rate is RM3
