An afternoon affair at Suffolk House, Penang

 
It's already 2014 now. 
And, I still have a belated post for December that is yet to be published.
I thought that it was one of the memorable lunch on a good Saturday afternoon, thus, here I am, writing my special 'lunch date' with my friend/sis.

We were at Suffolk house, to celebrate my friend's birthday.
We thought that we probably will not go to such places for lunch, so I made it a point to only go to these special places on a more special occasion, at least,  it would be more memorable dining there.

Since the set lunches are more affordable at RM55++, I decided to pick this place :)

And a pic of the 3 of us together. Thanks to the next-table-patron  who volunteered to take a picture for us, after observing us trying hard with the camera's self-timer.

Overall, I like the ambiance of this place. It's quiet (not too many people), easy parking, near-to-home, and service was moderately-fine, food was also good - but not the price.


There was going to be a wedding dinner that night, and I took the opportunity to snap some pretty pics..

And also, not forgetting, Christmas was (then) around the corner....


Hm.... these are the decos/stuff of the wedding couple - oops, i'm sorry, not meant to 'steal' your shots.


And lastly, the first and the last pic I ever took with the Penang state Chief Minister, YAB Mr Lim Guan Eng. If it's not because this place was quite private, I probably will not purposely asked him for a picture...

What's the Difference between 'Net' and "Nett"

Since it's part of my group's job to publish daily billings report to the management, our Director (from US) pinpointed that we should fix the spelling of 'nett billings' to 'net billings'. My colleauge was looking at google, trying to understand the 'right' spelling to be used. I finally checked it from Wikipedia , and found that 'nett' is BRITISH and 'net' is AMERICAN. No wonder he's offended to fix it to 'net'! C'mon. I'm in an american MNC, I should be more sensitive towards this.

Monday Movie Day - Mamma Mia

Finally, after being a nuffnanger for 3 months, I was invited for a free movie at GSC Gurney. Thanks, nuffnang. Again and again. Free movie for 3. Thanks. :D The blogger community was exceptionally quiet compared to the usual cinema crowd. Perhaps, maybe, they only TALK in their blog. I dont' know. Even as we were watching a few minutes of the silent movie, there were not a single 'hoo-ing' or banana-throwing at the screens. I was looking hard to see if I know anyone. I guess it's just 5xmom with her anti-ISA tshirt. Hm.. Somewhat, after watching the movie, I felt that it was just morally so wrong. Am I too rational? 1. How can one has 3 fathers? Shouldn't they do a DNA check first? 2. Does that mean it's alright sleeping with 3 men one after another and get pregnant and raise the child in an island? 3. An Encounter with Gelatissimo

It was an eventful Saturday afternoon. I had an 'appointment' with Gelatissimo , Gurney Plaza, Penang. I have always wished to try gelatos there (since Lecka Lecka has gone for good) and it's the ONLY store serving gelatos in Penang (I think). There you go.. I'm going to blog on my 'encounter' with Gelatissimo. First and foremost, consumers need to be educated the difference between ice-cream (Haagen dazs, Baskin Robbins, Walls etc) and Gelatos. Gelatos is italian frozen ice dessert and the method of making it is different from ice cream . Basically, gelatos has less cream than ice cream and it has higher density (the molecules are nearer as compared with ice cream). Most importantly, I think the fat content is less as it has more original food as compared with ice cream (usually with articificial coloring and flavours). The friendly staff posing for camera.
