An afternoon at Black Kettle, Beach Street Penang

I have always like Christmas season.
Christmas decos, winter-like atmosphere, gifts, cakes and all the sweet and pretty things.

It was way past lunch hour - and it's sort of a late lunch at Black kettle, with very limited food selection to choose from the menu.

Nevertheless, there were ample of breads and cakes from the counter to choose.

The classic egg Benedict. Not too bad with cooked spinach.

The xmas feel environment makes everything so cozy.

I find that the latte is slightly different from the other places I've been. Very little amount of milk.
the art latte got dissolved pretty fast.

Very strong alcohol taste in the tiramisu's italian lady finger - deeply sogged.
Not a very generous piece that it gets 'finished' very quickly within a few minutes by 4 ladies :)

Ze beef burger.

and the healthy fruity pancakes

Overall, this place is spacious to hang around, without worrying about not finding a table.
What i love most is free and easy parking on Sundays.
I probably wouldn't want to go on a weekday unless it's a holiday :)

What's the Difference between 'Net' and "Nett"

Since it's part of my group's job to publish daily billings report to the management, our Director (from US) pinpointed that we should fix the spelling of 'nett billings' to 'net billings'. My colleauge was looking at google, trying to understand the 'right' spelling to be used. I finally checked it from Wikipedia , and found that 'nett' is BRITISH and 'net' is AMERICAN. No wonder he's offended to fix it to 'net'! C'mon. I'm in an american MNC, I should be more sensitive towards this.

An Encounter with Gelatissimo

It was an eventful Saturday afternoon. I had an 'appointment' with Gelatissimo , Gurney Plaza, Penang. I have always wished to try gelatos there (since Lecka Lecka has gone for good) and it's the ONLY store serving gelatos in Penang (I think). There you go.. I'm going to blog on my 'encounter' with Gelatissimo. First and foremost, consumers need to be educated the difference between ice-cream (Haagen dazs, Baskin Robbins, Walls etc) and Gelatos. Gelatos is italian frozen ice dessert and the method of making it is different from ice cream . Basically, gelatos has less cream than ice cream and it has higher density (the molecules are nearer as compared with ice cream). Most importantly, I think the fat content is less as it has more original food as compared with ice cream (usually with articificial coloring and flavours). The friendly staff posing for camera. The girl in spectacles would always asked me if I would like to try their flavours. To be honest, I trie...
