CNY 2007

My CNY this year can be considered pretty miserable. At least, on the last day of work, we managed to hang out at the Breeks for lunch (our 'version' of 'sou gong fan'). But on the next day, my stomach felt terrible, with the patties and the spagetti sauce that was not digested. Eww....... I just puke it all out the next day. Morever, with the 2+ mandarin oranges I had, I couldn't even clean up the house on New Year's Eve.

New Year's Day started with church........ and one song that struck me was..

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,
His mercies never come to an end,
they are new every morning, new every morning,
Great is thy faithfulness of God,
Great is thy faithfulness..

-> it just mean that God is merciful to us everytime, and it just renewed everyday...
So, if we choose to ask God to help us in whatever circumstances with us, he will be by our side to overcome the problem with us together. In deed, we could sing, "With Christ in the vessel we can smile at the storm".

Oh yea.. and i liked the hillsongs "mighty to save" album that i borrowed..... especially the song "At the cross"...

Second day was going around houses.... not much at all this year.
Only collected a handful....... from 2 houses.

Kinda sad to know from my baby sitter that her husband passed away suddenly last Christmas. She was still grieving. She was still tearing while telling us the whole story. Since I started working, I always thought that I would pop by to her house once in a while to spend time with her but never did. I think I shall make it a difference this year. I hope I will, but not too sure I can.

Third day -> schoolmates reunion... geee...

What's the Difference between 'Net' and "Nett"

Since it's part of my group's job to publish daily billings report to the management, our Director (from US) pinpointed that we should fix the spelling of 'nett billings' to 'net billings'. My colleauge was looking at google, trying to understand the 'right' spelling to be used. I finally checked it from Wikipedia , and found that 'nett' is BRITISH and 'net' is AMERICAN. No wonder he's offended to fix it to 'net'! C'mon. I'm in an american MNC, I should be more sensitive towards this.

An afternoon at Dannok

Living at the northern side of Malaysia makes it really convenient and easy to go 'overseas'. For us, going to our neighboring country, be it Thailand or Singapore by land or by flight is really easy. I'm always a fan of Thai food, and with the remaining Thai bahts that I had since my last Bangkok trip (which I didn't finish even crossing the border a couple or times), I decided to go Dannok for FOOD again. So, it's a day trip or rather, half day tour to Dannok For the past few weeks, I was searching for insta / blog /facebook posts if there is any other new hangouts in Dannok, but sadly, I couldn't find many bloggers who write about it. The funny part is, I already blogged about it two years ago. The immigration complex in Malaysia is new. I nearly couldn't recognize it, while passing to get our passport checked. As I didn't want to drive over, we parked our car at the Zon Duty Free. As I entered, I took the wrong ticket (which parking rate is RM3
