Whenever I go for fish and chips, it reminds me somewhere far, like the Fremantle fish&chips or the fish & chips at Bondi Beach. I have never liked the frozen fish and chips fillet, so, the fish and chips at Uncle Albert' s is good for me. Well, it has almost the same style as Blue Reef's, except that over here, there is a free soup and iced lemon tea (I cant remember if it's for orders before 8pm or so) This place is perfect for a weekend! While strolling along the marina, and shopping at the flea market,  at the same time, there are many restaurants for pit stops! So, here I am, trying out this place, after so long (they have already opened since 2013). While reading about this place, it seems that this restaurant started in Greentown, Ipoh. It's probably my first year taking annual leave on my birthday. Indeed, it's special, without needing to think much about unfinished work on that day. On my birthday eve, it's my first time going to G Kelawai rooftop bar, for a drink. Too bad that it rained, that I couldn't sit outside for the night view. Since I reached just before 10pm (it's a wed), I didn't had a chance to go for free drinks since it's ladies night (8pm-10pm, I think) Very quiet place, which is very suitable for chit chats. The night couldn't end with my favourite Chulia Street wantan mee. This street reminds me of Thailand, with many hawkers selling till late night, after midnight. I'm writing something different today. It's not about food. It's not about a tourist spot. It's just some fashion tips for women. I have always like Christmas season. Christmas decos, winter-like atmosphere, gifts, cakes and all the sweet and pretty things. It was way past lunch hour - and it's sort of a late lunch at Black kettle, with very limited food selection to choose from the menu. Nevertheless, there were ample of breads and cakes from the counter to choose. The classic egg Benedict. Not too bad with cooked spinach. The xmas feel environment makes everything so cozy. I find that the latte is slightly different from the other places I've been. Very little amount of milk. the art latte got dissolved pretty fast.  Very strong alcohol taste in the tiramisu's italian lady finger - deeply sogged. Not a very generous piece that it gets 'finished' very quickly within a few minutes by 4 ladies :) Ze beef burger. and the healthy fruity pancakes Overall, this place is spacious to hang around, without worrying about not finding a table.

Cafes have been sprouting in Penang, and somewhat it spread to BM, Butterworth, SP and even Alor Setar... The last i remembered, Alor star doens't have Starbucks or Coffeebean, thus, it's still less competitive to open a cafe business there. All I remember is Blackwood from Kedah. Besides Blackwood, there are many cafes around, and after going to a few cafes, I finally found a coffee place that I enjoyed (that comes together with the ambience/environment/people). So, this cafe is called Tiffz Coffee Gallery , located at Pekan Simpang Kuala, Alor Setar (located above Bank Rakyat) and there is a day market along the road. Since it only open after lunch, I only had coffee and the well known waffles+ice cream. I would probably be back again for dinner some day. The cafe is situated on the 1st floor of the row of shop lots, thus climbing up the stairs is required, and you need to look up higher for the signboard. I found a really nice place for food which is really worth for those with big and huge tummy since it's a semi buffet dinner. We could order any main course and we will be entitled for the unlimited salad/soup/desserts. This place is Saffron and it's located at the basement of Prangin mall (below Parkson) Pumpkin soup. It's not all the time the same soup. sometimes it's just mushroom soup. Salad with olives and eggs. Latte. The promotion keeps changing. Sometimes we could add on for coffee, sometimes we can't. The last time i went, there was promotion for citibankers, but now, not anymore.  And some of the food that we ordered. I been here for another two times, but I think i probably stop going there for the time being, as the food isn't that consistent, but to me, it's really worth if you have a big tummy to start with. There are also cakes and fruits for desserts, too :)

It's another trip to Bangkok and I still find that this place is fun to visit again! I have yet to blog about my trip back in 2014 and now again, I need to post for 2015 trip instead :) Just want to share the places I went. Day 1: Sukhumvit, Nana area for dinner/supper/drinks. Since it was an evening flight, when i reached BKK, it was just in time for dinner/supper/drinks. I had boat noodles at the stalls along the main Sukhumvit road outside Soi Cowboy, followed by roadside food/drinks like bbq pork, fruit juices, fruits and Holly's coffee! :) Visited a pub called Bangkok beat, alight from Nana BTS, they are really cheap drinks/promos during weekday. Beers were like 75B. Day 2: Jim Thompson, MBK, Chinatown, Wat Pho/Wat Arun/Grand palace area, Khaosan Road. Wanted to visit the Jim Thompson museum the last trip, but again, was too lazy.
